This is actually my third project for my illustration class. I turned in the second one, a stippeling project, before spring break. This illustration was from a paper copy of a picture. Outlines were traced onto black scratch board using white graphite paper. Marks were mostly made using a nib. I kept it to “soften” up the edges of the clouds, using an x-acto knife.
On a different note, I really enjoy the new WordPress feature that displays the country of origin of blog readers. Today, for my blog, Croatia is the winner, yesterday, India, frequently Australia (hotbed of bokashi composting), as well as the USA. When I checked yesterday, viewers from 17 countries were represented, to name a few, Italy, The Netherlands, Vietnam, The Phillipines, Great Britain, and New Zealand. I enjoy hearing about and learning new opinions, perspectives, and worldviews!

I have always wanted to try scratch boards. Very nice lines
I mostly used a scratch nib, but also used an Exacto knife, and even some steel wool to complete the picture. Thanks for the comment.
