2010 T.O.U.C.H. Picnic: Part II

More Pictures

Here are a few more pictures from the 2010 TOUCH picnic held at Wildlife Prairie State Park, Edwards, Illinois on September 19, 2010.

Rescued animals are used for educational purposes.  The kids love them!

The kids love to get behind the owl to make her turn around and stare at them with her huge eyes.

Wildlife Prairie State Park features native animals in natural surroundings.  Taking a train ride through the park is an enjoyable way to view some of the animals.

These pictures are just a small sample of the activities going on.  Children and parents got a chance to socialize with doctors and caregivers that are literally on a life or death schedule.   One sponsor brought his 7,000 (yes, 7 thousand) horsepower funny car dragster.  Ben Zobrist of the Tampa Rays donated a signed bat and batting glove for one of the many raffles.  Man, me, my grandsons, and a lot of other kids were coveting that prize!

There were a lot of kids that got a chance to have fun and forget their problems for a short time.
