Stipple, not Pointillion

Stipple is using only one color (plus the white of the paper as negative), black in this case. Here is a project done for an Illustration class.  It seems like a lot of work, until you get near the end and the person seems to come to life from the details.  I used an 05 Micron technical pen for most of the dots, on Strathmore Bristol vellum paper. You have to tear the page out of the pad and put it on a hard surface.  With a bunch of artists in the same room, it sounds like a machine gun battle.
